Milan, May 8th, 2017 - This ribbon-cutting ceremony welcomes the international and Italian F & B professionals in TUTTOFOOD 2017 at fieramilano from today until Thursday 11 May, consolidating its figures.

Indeed, the Milan World Food Exhibition is getting ready to replicate the record results registered in the year of the EXPO: the 180,000 sqm of exhibition area will host over 2,850 exhibitors (2,800 in 2015), over 500 of which from abroad (+ 10%), and over 3,150 profiled buyers from Italy and abroad.

Significant funds have been invested in scouting foreign buyers. Indeed, through the expert collaboration of ITA - Italian Trade Agency, the numbers are especially high, with the largest delegations coming - in order - from USA, Canada, South America, Germany and the Persian Gulf Countries. To these are added the decision-makers present in their capacity as visitors, a third of whom are expected from abroad.

More than 20,000 targeted appointments have been already organised through the completely renewed MyMatching system.

The event's role as an international point of reference has thus been confirmed, also due to show's constantly evolving formula through the addition of new sectors focusing on high-growth markets and the grouping of specialist skills from the entire agrifood world. The result is a veritable hub that combines business opportunities and knowledge sharing at the highest levels, offering effective solutions for every type of visitor and for new categories of professionals.


Countless specialised events under one roof

Spazio Nutrizione is Italy’s most important scientific event on food, which this year will be taking place at the ‘Stella Polare’ Convention Centre. This programme of conventions and courses, devised by Akesios in partnership with renowned medical-scientific firms and with the sponsorship of 6 universities, will host new professional figures such as doctors, nutritionists, dieticians, wellbeing sector operators, personal trainers and pharmacists, and will be completed by the TUTTOHEALTH exhibition area dedicated to functional food. For the first time Spazio Nutrizione will be sponsored by the Ministry of Health.

Moreover, the alliance with Seeds&Chips will see the Global Food Innovation Summit set up base in halls 8-12 and will be closely integrated with the TUTTOFOOD exhibition experience, which will be enriched by start-ups, companies, universities and institutions that are heavily involved in the agrifoodtech 4.0 revolution, in addition to high-level content.

Barak Obama, 44th President of the United States of America, is the guest of honor at Seeds & Chips; will also attend the event Sam Kass, former White House chef-counselor, Kerry Kennedy, President of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, and over 200 high-profile speakers from around the world. The specialized exhibitors of Seeds & Chips have access to the largest audience of TUTTOFOOD, which, conversely, will be enriched with new innovation-oriented industry players.

Thanks to the unprecedented agreement with Veronafiere, the Fruit&Veg Innovation area will also be making its début in hall 6, focusing on fresh produce, on dried and dehydrated fruits, and on new fruit and vegetable growth opportunities in the pursuit of wellness and innovation. Another new area is Wine Discovery, in hall 3, curated by the Vinitaly International Academy. Here, wine experts and sommeliers will bridge the gap between the word of wine and the other supply chains represented at the event.


An ever-expanding exhibition concept

There are many more surprises in store in the various exhibition sectors. TUTTOFOOD 2017 will focus especially on on retail and mass-market distribution. The collaboration with Daymon Europe, the world leader in retailer consulting and SG Marketing, has given rise to Next Retail (hall 6), an innovative "multi-event" concept split into 4 areas that combine training, the targeted matching of supply-demand, and external events. With its innovative-oriented approach, Retail Next has attracted some of the most important Italian and foreign labels: Auchan, Carrefour, Consorzio Coralis, Coop, Gruppo Végé, Magazzini Gabrielli and Despar Aspiag from Italy; the foreign labels are represented by the management of Jerónimo Martins, Pick&Pay, Recheio, TOPS and Zabka. Esselunga will sponsor Spazio Nutrizione and Conad will be on show with its brand of excellence, Sapori&Dintorni

Remaining in the field of knowledge sharing, this year's edition will see even more ACADEMIES than ever before. These are moments providing an in-depth analysis of each sector represented. This year, the ACADEMIES will avail of the crosscutting collaboration of the chefs of the Milan and Province Cooks' Association, who will combine courses, workshops and presentations on industry data and trends with a rich schedule of tastings and cooking shows, which will make the ACADEMIES even more engaging and intuitive.

TUTTOFOOD will also be supported by the most prestigious European chefs' association, present in 15 countries and comprising 345 talented young chefs: JRE - Jeunes Réstaurateurs will take care of the Gourmet Area events and cooking shows, featuring over 120 traditional products and the culinary excellence of 12 countries, specially selected for the event.

The partnership with Blue Sea Land, the International Expo of the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Agrifood Districts, will complete the TUTTOSEAFOOD fish area (hall 1) with a space dedicated to the sustainable exploitation of marine resources and the Euro-Mediterranean ecosystem. Instead, the collaboration with FederBio will give rise to TUTTOGREEN (hall 4), which will present macrobiotic, herbal, vegan and organic products whose quality is guaranteed by the association's members.


Thanks to the close collaboration between Unaprol and Fiera Milano, among the protagonists of TUTTOFOOD 2017 edition there is the Italian extra virgin olive oil, a strategic presence for the relaunch of the sector's economy.

A real must this year is Week&Food, the fringe event of TUTTOFOOD, which, thanks to the collaboration with the City of Milan, Regione Lombardia and Confcommercio, has expanded to become Milano Food City, the city's first food week. Within the framework of Milano Food City, - started last Thursday and accompanying the event until its end on Thursday 11 -the distinctive feature of Week&Food will be the leading role played by the exhibitors and members of the Confindustria and professional associations which, for the first time, from 4 to 11 May, will share - with foodies, travellers and all citizens - the previews usually reserved for professionals in the city's trendiest areas and locations.
