With the intent to promote virtuous practices for sustainable agriculture outside of Italy as well, Andriani S.p.A. Benefit Corporation has launched a new sustainable supply chain project in Ethiopia for the cultivation of Teff. Teff is an ancient grain that is the basis of the indigenous diet. Today it is cultivated by local farming communities organised in simple cooperatives using traditional methods that have been handed down over millennia but that, unfortunately, do not promote the proper yield in terms of quantity or economic return for those farmers.

Andriani's challenging initiative aims to increase productivity by intervening in the agricultural techniques while respecting the complex balance between innovation and tradition, with the introduction of some tools for an initial simple mechanisation of the work and with the optimisation of subsequent logistical and analytical steps that affect the quality of the finished product.
