Citra Vini
The "Mappiamo Project" was created to promote a more sustainable and modern agriculture 4.0, thanks to the use of an "integrated computer platform" able to implement models and algorithms for the prediction of agronomic practices and harvest time. The project is carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development within the Sustainable Growth Fund and also involves La Guardiense and Valpolicella Negrar wineries. The project wants to enhance the territory and the native vines with the study and identification of the areas most suited to the cultivation of the vines allow to improve the quality of the products, enhancing the peculiar characteristics of each variety. Already in 2019, the first data on the 2018 campaign were collected, and thanks to the IT support of the ENOGIS platform, the importance of homogenizing and improving product quality was highlighted, through simple processes, targeted and sustainable processing. The application of precision viticulture is necessary to know the status, health, vigor and physiological needs of vines in georeferenced points within the same vineyard: a precise mapping of vineyards supports both the work of technicians and the activities of farmers to implement a 360° sustainable agriculture. In fact, through the crossing of computer data with sampling data it is possible to elaborate a systematic approach on vineyards, generating "prescription maps" for winegrowers with the indication of differentiated workings. All agronomic practices (soil management, irrigation, fertilization, green pruning, winter pruning, harvesting) are differentially managed both for different farmers and within the same vineyard. The effect of such processing is to manage the spatial variability present in the soil. In addition to greater efficiency that ensures greater profit, an important and relevant aspect of precision farming is the sustainability of the entire supply chain. From the zoning project comes a new experimentation of vinification in Codice Citra in order to maximize the quality of autochthonous wines (Pecorino, Passerina, Montepulciano, Trebbiano). In 2020 the technicians of the associated wineries of Codice Citra collected the various vegetative and productive data which were recorded on the available web application, in order to test and verify the information collected and the possibility to process the information with the indications given by the program under study and application in the field. Among the various operations through direct confrontation with Dr. Luca Toninato and the technicians, it was possible to verify the various possibilities of transmission to the winegrowers of the operations to be recorded and in agreement with the programmers, some notes were made in order to make some masks of use simpler and more intuitive so as to develop the program usable by the majority of the social base even those less predisposed to the use of new technologies. In the pre-harvest period have been collected several samples of grapes of different varieties and production areas. On all white and red berried grapes have been done the technical analysis in order to verify the analytical parameters of the maturation process of grapes through the accumulation of phenolic substances. This phase is considered peculiar within the project because the elaboration of data will allow the creation of "calibration curves" to be used in the various wineries and the possibility to make analysis all with the same method and variables, in order to standardize information even on different areas. The project foresees that Codice Citra will be equipped with a computer platform that can be consulted via Web and via App with data on Cloud, and accessible, at various levels, to technicians and members of the associated wineries in order to have under control all the historical data collected over the years, usable, vineyard by vineyard, and with thematic spatialization on the whole territory. Thanks to the acquisition of weather satellite data (SENTINAL) as well as vigor indices, it will be possible to evaluate, both on a parcel basis and on a territorial basis, the trend of vegetation and weather forecasts. This will allow the refinement of the phases of determination of pre-harvest sampling and identification of homogeneous zones of maturation. It will be possible, therefore, to elaborate a predictive model about expected productions in the vineyards of the winery's members and thanks to artificial intelligence machine learning systems, the data collected in previous years and the survey plan made during the project, integrated with satellite data, will allow the validation of real harvesting data; a model to predict the level of ripeness in vineyards near the harvesting, through an accurate sampling protocol. Will be implemented models of prediction of diseases already developed, thanks to the compilation by members of a computerized notebook, so as to provide alerts and advice, on a parcel basis, about the treatments of the main diseases of the vine. The project will include the digitalization of all the vineyards and of the treatments done in them in order to join a project of sustainable production and technological increase (in the perspective of a precision agriculture with the logic of Industry 4.0), which will lead to the creation of forecasting models capable of evaluating and choosing, more correctly, the time of treatment and harvesting as well as estimating the quantity of harvests.
