To minimize the environmental impact of waste and to respond to the greater "ecological" sensitivity of customers, Zini is the first company in the sector that has chosen to convert all its packaging in compostable material designed specifically for frozen products. The film is composed by biopolymer mixtures partly of fossil origin, partly from renewable vegetable source (corn starch), without the use of glues.

The film does not contain traces of Gmos. Also the molding process of the packages involves the use of paints that meet the characteristics and methods of use required for compostability. The film complies with the EN13432 standard, as certified by OK compost industrial and complies with Directive 94/62/EC on packaging and packaging waste.

One of the first products of the whole Zini range to have been packed in the 100% compostable packaging are Ravioli Ricotta and Spinach 500 g, a product of the retail line made with 100% Italian ingredients. Overall, the products that have been packed in the 100% compostable packaging are 92.
