Investigative journalist with a background in economic history at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Milan, he is particularly interested in the relational dynamics between the industry supplying food and non-food consumer goods, all channels of modern distribution and catering, and the systems and services related to them. Specialisations: he has been dealing with editorial issues related to the use of the Internet since 1997. He coordinates the team dedicated to the development of new editorial concepts, and is also responsible for the digital edition of Largo Consumo on www.largoconsumo.info and of the web TV on www.youtube.com/largoconsumo

He is a digital entrepreneur who already went through a business exit and has international experience in e-commerce and startups. After an experience in consultancy, for several years he worked in Italy, Germany and Holland with companies of the Rocket Internet group, dealing with the launch on the Italian market of Wimdu - competitor of Airbnb - Zalando - the largest fashion e-commerce in Europe - and Travelbird - a Dutch online travel company. In 2016 he decided to get back to Milan to launch Quomi, the first company to introduce meal kits in Italy.

Giovanni D’Alessandro

General Manager, Basko - Sogegross Group

He grew professionally by working between Brand Industry and Retail, with positions of increasing responsibility. His personal background has a strong focus on leading Teams and implementing complex plans. For almost 8 years, he has been with the Sogegross Group, a historical distribution company based in Genoa, and when he joined the Company he was appointed as Sales, Marketing and Communication Manager for the Basko Supermarkets division. In the last 6 years, he took on the role of Basko’s General Manager in which role he designed and managed Strategic Plans that generated new business opportunities with a growth of market share and brand reputation of the Company. He is a great believer in delegation, fully aware that it takes courage to truly implement it. Courage to trust the company that in turn gives back passion and energy to achieve goals. He considers crucial the human impact that a Leader can have in a team where one of the most important tasks for a manager is to choose the right People and assign them to the right roles. He has always surrounded himself with Women and Men capable of challenging the obvious, breaking the mould and going beyond what was already seen in the marketplace.

Since 2017, he has been the Marketing and Communication Manager for Bennet, a leading company in Italy in the retail and shopping center market, after having worked for Carrefour Group Italy with important responsibilities in different roles in marketing and sales. Previously, he worked with the Aegis Media Group as an Assistant Project Manager and with IsICult - Italian Institute for Cultural Industry - as a researcher. An MBA holder specialised in business administration and strategic management.
