Helle Oeder Valebrokk is half Norwegian and half Danish living in Oslo, Norway. Helle is a food columnist in the Norwegian travel magazine Vagabond and writes for the biggest food magazines in Norway such as VG (Godt) and Mat fra Norge. She’s a journalist, food and travel writer, recipe developer, food stylist and amateur chef. She has written two cook books. The latest is on the topic Poke, the famous Hawaiian dish. Helle is also an award winning amateur chef and has won a lot of cooking prizes for the best burger, as the best amateur chef, the best hobby chef and so on. She travels around the world in her work when she’s not home in Oslo cooking and creating new recipes for her blog HellesKitchen.

Fårikål is actually the unofficial nation dish of Norway, to be correct. Fårikål [foːrɪkɔl] literally means “mutton in cabbage”.
The dish was voted the national dish on national radio by the listeners of the show “Nitimen” in the 70’s.
