Coffee is a part of the food culture not only here in Hong Kong but all over the world.

 

Lots of people enjoy one or more than one cup of coffee daily so that coffee has more or less become their life’s essentials.

 

Because of the healthy lifestyle demand by the people, more and more Green coffee / Healthy coffee has relatively been pop up in the market. In this connection, drinking coffee might be considered as one of the healthy habits.

 

What are the health benefits of different types of coffee?

 

 

Green coffee

Green bean coffee is a latest fad. Green coffee beans are regular coffee beans that have not yet been roasted. Green coffee has become a popular supplement for weight loss. It is also loaded with antioxidants, helps in lowering blood pressure, reduces levels of bad cholesterol and improves blood circulation.

 

Cascara

Cascara comes from the discarded skins of the fruit from a coffee plant, these are called coffee cherries. Coffee cherry tea does not have nearly the same amount of caffeine as coffee. It is used as an herbal weight loss aid or to boost energy levels.

 

CBD coffee

In recent years, CBD  has become a popularity in Hong Kong. CBD helps regulate your mood, ease anxiety and sleep better.

 

Bubbly Brew

Bubbly Brew is a combination of espresso, tonic water or soda. Sparkling coffee is a light, refreshing and bubbly alternative to getting your daily caffeine boost.

 

Pour Over coffee

The pour over method involves pouring hot water over roasted, ground coffee beans enclosed in a filter.  The coffee from a well-executed pour over can yield much greater complexity of flavour.  And it’s gaining popularity in Hong Kong now.

 

Cold brew

Since the summer here is hot and wet, cold brew is always a good idea! You can do it yourself at home mixing ground coffee with cool water and storing the mixture in the fridge overnight, while your coffee slowly infuses into the water.

The next day you strain the mixture, leaving you with a strong concentrate (you’ll want to dilute it!) that can be served right away or stored for up to two weeks. It makes a smooth, mellow cup of coffee that has very little acidity or bitterness.

 

Oat milk coffee

Oat milk is a popularly here and is used to make creamy espresso drinks.  Oat milk can be a good option for people who are lactose intolerant or sensitive to dairy .

 

Dalgona Coffee

Dalgona coffee is the It-Drink of the moment. It is like a cold latte with a velvety smooth and sweet coffee foam on top - you could be eating coffee-flavoured cream. Just like your regular coffee, dalgona coffee can improve your energy levels, making you feel less tired and smarter.
